American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State are summer leadership and citizenship programs for high school juniors

Are you interested in learning more about service and government? The American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State are summer leadership and citizenship programs for high school juniors, which focus on exploring the mechanics of American government and politics. The applications for Boys’ and Girls’ State is now open.  This is a selective program to be held at a Virginia College/university in person the week of June 18-24, so please be sure that you can meet the requirements.  Please review www.vaboysstate.org and www.vagirlsstate.org

Both programs are open to High Schoolers who will complete their Junior year in June 2023 and have at least one additional semester of high school to complete in Fall 2023. All applicants will be interviewed (in person) by members of the Legion, Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion at Post 364 in Woodbridge
