Helping Military Connected Students

C. D. Hylton High School has established the first S2S military-connected program in the school’s history. S2S (Student to Student) is designed to help all military connected students and their families adapt and transition into a new school and community. Six percent of our student population is military-connected, either through active duty, reserves, national guard, veterans or DoDEA employment. Hylton has faculty and staff consisting of veterans and active duty members of the armed forces. Encouraging 100 percent acceptance is a hallmark of the student-led Student 2 Student (S2S) program that brings military-connected and civilian Hylton High School students together. S2S welcomes incoming students to Hylton by greeting them on their very first morning, giving them a tour of the school, making sure they have someone to eat with during lunch, inviting them to monthly new student mixers, and then touching base with them to make sure they are getting connected to the Hylton community. We will be celebrating Veterans Day and Month of The Military Family, stay tuned for more information.
