Students
not
enrolled
in
GEMS
will
be
offered
four
to
six
seminars
for
the
year.
The
seminars
will
pull
from
topics
included
in
the
GEMS
class
and
are
applied
philosophy
in
the
areas
of
metaphysics,
epistemology,
ethics,
and
aesthetics.
The
topics
may
include
any
of
the
following:
- Self: Who am I and where do I go from here? What is the self and where does it reside?
- Metaphysics: What is real? Are there layers of reality? How do we know that we are really experiencing reality?
- Knowledge: What is knowledge? How do you know that you know?
- Acquisition of Knowledge: How is knowledge shaped by sense perceptions? How is knowledge shaped by our paradigms?
- Truth: What is truth? Is there truth or only belief? How does man create his own truth?
- Success: What is your purpose in life? What is happiness? How can you achieve your goals?

are
always
welcome
to
refer
a
student
for
evaluation
for
gifted
services.
In
addition,
a
student
may
nominate
himself/herself.
