Students enrolled in the Cabinetmaking program learn so much more than just how to build cabinets!
Students learn employability skills alongside workshop and tool safety as they practice reading blueprints; estimating and selecting materials; cutting and shaping stock; assembling, fastening, and installing components; and finishing surfaces. They learn how to construct cabinets and other small wood items. The technical, problem-solving, leadership, and creative skills learned in Cabinetmaking are relevant in industries beyond the construction trades and professions and help prepare the student for lifelong learning and success.
Additionally, students in the Cabinetmaking program have the opportunity to gain real-life business skills as a part of the True Edge Joinery Enterprise, where the students sell the products that they make in their classes. It provides students with the knowledge and skills to run a business, communicate with clients, and so much more!

Specialty program applications will be accepted November 3, 2025-February 1, 2026.

Who can apply?
All PWCS students in grades 9, 10, and 11.
Requirements for Application
- Grades: Cs or better in core subjects
- Attendance: In good attendance standing (Definition: not chronically absent, ie not missing 10% or more of school)
- Behavior: In good discipline standing; No discipline record in the past 12 months for fighting, vapes, disrespect/classroom disruption, vandalism. No discipline record ever of assault/battery, sexual assault/harassment, arson, weapons, or drugs/alcohol.

PWCS will also be holding a General Information Webinar for all high school programs and the application process on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 6 p.m.
Program Information
Transfer Program
Students participating in this program will transfer to the program location for all courses and activities.
Express bus transportation is available to accepted students living outside the program location boundaries through Specialty Program Transportation.
